Interested local self-government bodies are invited to take part in the competitive selection for the Experience Sharing Network “Development of the Municipal Safety Environment Programme”
As part of the activities of the Network, local self-government officials will learn the following:

How can municipalities improve safety in their localities?

Why is the analysis of the safety situation essential for any municipality?

What can help the municipality pool resources to create a safe environment in villages, towns and cities?

Who are safety stakeholders and how can they affect the safety of the people living in the municipality?

What kind of impact can the Municipal Safety Environment Programme have on its social and economic development?
About the Network
The Experience Sharing Network “Development of the Municipal Safety Environment Programme” offers an opportunity, with the support of experts, to analyse the safety environment of the community, identify safety stakeholders, figure out the directions and ways of finding resources and develop a comprehensive safety programme. In addition, joining the Network offers an opportunity to learn the experience of colleagues and share your own practices.
Why this Network?
Members of the Network will:

Learn the concepts and legal framework regarding the safe environment of the municipality and modern approaches to building a comprehensive safe environment in localities of rural, town, and city councils;

Form the skills of implementing municipal safety measures in medium- and long-term;

Receive consulting support for developing the Municipal Safety Environment Programme.
When?
The Experience Sharing Network will be active for 4 months, from May to September 2023.
Who can join the Network?
The participants of the Network will include 48 local self-government officials of 24 municipalities from all oblasts (2 representatives from each municipality, a senior official whose duties include coordination of municipal safety and an official who is directly responsible for issues of safety and civil protection in the local self-government body).
Priority in the competitive selection is given to participants from municipalities with a population of up to 50,000 who:

need an analysis of the safety environment and approval of the Programme for ensuring a safe environment in their municipality, show readiness to implement organisational measures for the formation of a safe environment in the municipality;

are committed to effective documentary and organisational analysis of the safety situation in the municipality, development of a map of stakeholders and the Municipal Safety Environment Programme.
