Why is informing about the activities of the local self-government bodies so important? Why is it important to know exactly who you are addressing and how to choose the right words? How does the availability of a communication strategy affect the quality of information and the level of trust of residents in the authorities? How to take into account the specifics of certain social groups that have emerged because of the war and build the right communication with them?
The answers to these and many other questions are in the new U-LEAD initiative "Steps for Specialists. Communication of local self-government bodies"!
What is it?
This is an opportunity for local government specialists to improve their professional knowledge and skills in the field of communication, in particular, the specifics of working with online channels, visual communication, approaches to crisis communication and digital security, as well as to establish communication processes both within the local government and in the municipality as a whole.
Why this program?
Participants of the training program will:
- learn about the main approaches to strategic communications;
- get acquainted with the legal and organisational principles of information and digital security;
- understand the peculiarities of using online tools for interaction with target audiences and the main aspects of effective visual communication;
- understand the specifics of anti-crisis communication and communication with vulnerable groups;
- develop skills in analysing existing communication capabilities and anticipating risks;
- using practical cases, gaining skills in conducting effective communication activities;
- get acquainted with the experience of municipalities, build contacts and establish cooperation with colleagues from other regions of Ukraine.
When?
May 2, 2024, Duration - 8 weeks.
Who can participate?
100 employees of municipalities with a population of up to 50,000 who are responsible for communication issues, are not located in temporarily occupied territories, have the technical capabilities (microphone, camera) to join online events, have not participated in the "Creating a Plan for change communication" network, and have a high level of motivation to participate will become participants of the training program.
How to participate?
To participate in the selection, it is necessary to fill out the attached Application in MS Excel format and send it to the email address: regops.u-lead@giz.de by 18:00 on April 15, 2024, indicating " Steps_Communication_Hromada_Oblast " on subject line of the message.
