Almost 1500 participants joined the first theoretical module of the course "Rules of Ethical Conduct for Public Servants and Officials of Local Self-Government Bodies" online as part of The House of Integrity project. Representatives of hromadas, state institutions and enterprises at the national and regional levels, as well as anti-corruption officers, were among them.
The project is implemented by RMTeam in Ukraine in partnership with the Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine with the comprehensive support provided by the U-LEAD with Europe Programme.
Mariam Simonova, RMTeam Director in Ukraine, outlined the project's goal, which is to help public institutions build value-based management systems with integrity being the key fundamental element of work and the anti-corruption skills and knowledge — as auxiliary tools for achieving the institutional strategic goals at all levels.
Anna Fedorenko, Capacity Building Consultant of The House of Integrity project, the author of this thematic course, spoke about:
- international acts and standards of ethical behaviour of public officials;
- the ethics system of public service in Ukraine;
- the level of public trust in state authorities and institutions in Ukraine;
- corporate culture and tools of the Code of Ethical Conduct;
Participants of this training had the opportunity to get acquainted with the materials and interactively share their conclusions on the essence of the concept of ethics and integrity and reviewed examples of Codes of Ethical Conduct of various state institutions of Ukraine.
The next theoretical module will be held on February 15th on “ The Principles of Integrity in the Work of State Entities, Enterprises, Institutions, Organizations, and Local Self-Government Bodies", also online. More details about the upcoming educational opportunities and project activities will be announced on the U-LEAD with Europe Programme's social media pages.
