How to introduce a systematic approach to strategic planning for the development of a network of healthcare facilities? How to improve coordination between owners of municipal healthcare facilities, governing bodies and management of health care facilities? How to ensure the provision of quality healthcare services? How to establish effective communication in the management decision-making process?
The answers to these and many other questions can be found in the new U-LEAD with Europe initiative "Steps for Specialists. Healthcare Management in the Municipality"!
What is the program all about?
A comprehensive training program aimed at increasing the level of professional competence in managing the municipal health care system, organizing the provision of affordable and quality health care services, improving the efficiency of management of municipal health care facilities, applying tools and techniques for effective communication and eliminating conflict situations in the provision of health care services.
Why do this program?
The participants of the training program will:
- learn the basic principles of community health management;
- explore case studies of real-life situations;
- get to know the experience of other communities that have successfully implemented initiatives for the provision of health care services;
- establish contacts and cooperation with colleagues from other regions of Ukraine.
When?
Beginning on May 14, 2024. Duration: 7 weeks.
Who can take part in the program?
The teams (3 people in each group) from 30 local communities with a population of up to 50 thousand people, who are not located in the temporarily occupied territory and the territory of active hostilities, who are motivated to improve their professional competencies in health care management, have technical capabilities (microphone, camera) to participate in online events, and are ready for active learning and teamwork.
The team should include: a local government official responsible for health care, heads/deputy heads of municipal health care facilities.

To participate in the selection, please fill out the attached application form and send it to the email address: regops.u-lead@giz.de until 18:00 on May 1, 2024, indicating in the subject line "Steps_Health_Municipality_Oblast" in MS Excel format.
