The strategy was developed for the period of 2021-2027 with the support of U-LEAD with Europe Programme experts. The fourth meeting of the Working Party for Articulating the Yasinia Community Development Strategy has taken place recently. Zenovii Siryk, a U-LEAD local development strategy articulation expert, kept working on the document together with representatives of the community throughout the process, as reported by the U-LEAD Transcarpathian Oblast Regional Office.
“It was a pleasure to work with the Yasinia Community. There were a well-established interaction as well as an ongoing exchange of experience and information between us. The intensity of working on the strategy was a feature that marked out the working party. Remarkably, the management seeks to bring the community to the European level. The work was always intensive and involved a lot of discussions and deliberations,”
says Zenovii Siryk.
At the meeting, the expert and working party members considered and discussed development projects as well as the strategy implementation plan and mechanisms. Such strategic goals as tourism development, economic development, and the high quality of living in the community were outlined in the document.
The Community Development Strategy Implementation Plan includes 40 terms of reference and 250 local development projects to be implemented in 2021-2027.
“U-LEAD has made it possible for our community to get a unique opportunity for articulating the development strategy with expert support. I believe that developing a community without a community development strategy is impossible. We immediately got to work and set the task to articulate a quality document that will be implemented. To date, we have already held the fourth meeting of the working party. We are preparing to raise the strategy for public discussion. We thank the U-LEAD experts for their knowledge-based support, because we would not cope with this task on our own,”
sums up Andrii Deliatynchuk, head of the Yasinia Community.
The next steps that the community will work on are conducting public consultations and approving the development strategy at the session of the Yasinia Village Council.
In the words of Ivanna Brandis, chief specialist of the Department of Economic Development and Tourism of the Yasinia Village Council, the community has a great tourist potential, which, combined with developed infrastructure, economic startups, and successful investment projects, can make it one of the most successful and capable communities in Ukraine.
