Despite the full-scale war, the Kobleve municipality has been committed to the development of investment proposals, joining the Business-Friendly Municipality initiative, which was implemented by the Club of Business People of Ukraine with the support of U-LEAD.
“We created an informational stand and presentation materials for the exhibition based on the investment passport and ideas and proposals developed together with the experts. The largest projects that our municipality currently offers to investors include the construction of an industrial park, a rehabilitation centre for military personnel and their families; reconstruction of sewage treatment plants; as well as waste processing, alternative energy and coastal fortification, water supply and drainage projects. We are grateful to U-LEAD for their assistance in the work on the investment passport of the municipality, and we are looking forward to further cooperation,” said Serhii Fedoseiev, Chairman of the Board of the Local Development Agency of the Kobleve Village Council.
According to Mr Fedoseiev, on 15-16 February 2023, the head of the municipality and his colleagues held dozens of meetings and negotiations at the ReBuild Ukraine international forum to introduce potential investors and donors from European countries to the challenges and opportunities of the Kobleve municipality.
ReBuild Ukraine 2023 is an international exhibition-forum on the reconstruction of Ukraine, which brought leaders of affected municipalities and cities, government representatives, international financial institutions and funds, investors and the construction community together at one platform. According to the organisers, delegations from 22 countries of the world, 23 Ukrainian municipalities, 70 guest municipalities, 12 national pavilions of partner countries, about 500 global donor and financial organisations, and more than 20 official delegations from different countries took part in the Forum.
“U-LEAD helps municipalities approach recovery and reconstruction processes step-by-step. One of these steps is to work on an investment passport. Many countries are ready to help Ukrainian municipalities, and we need to cooperate with them. This is hard work that must be started now, as Kobleve and other Ukrainian municipalities have done. It is very important to get your foot in the door and be able to present yourself,” said Oleh Ilnytskyi, Head of the Regional Office of U-LEAD with Europe in the Mykolaiv oblast.
In 2021 and 2022, the Club of Business People of Ukraine, with the support of U-LEAD, implemented the initiative “Business-Friendly Municipality. Tools for Promoting Business in Municipalities” As a result, teams of 192 municipalities took part in the training course on system interaction with a local business community, use of business support tools and investment attraction. 24 most motivated teams received expert support in the development and implementation of business promotion tools, including an investment passport.
