Teacher certification is an important component of education development, which is becoming more and more popular recently and requires systematic efforts from municipalities. It was the topic of the info session held by U-LEAD with Europe together with the Office of the State Service of Education Quality in the Volyn oblast.
As emphasised by Anatolii Parkhomyuk, Head of the Regional Office of U-LEAD the Volyn oblast, the importance of high-quality education takes on a new level and requires a prompt response to new challenges in the conditions of war.
“Our experts help municipalities to develop modern approaches and methods to facilitate overcoming these challenges and improving the system of educational services. We work systematically with our partners and have already achieved positive results. Our cooperation with the State Service of Education Quality provides municipalities with reliable information and professional clarifications on a number of educational issues.”
According to Anhelina Korets, Head of the State Service of Education Quality, the certification of teachers is a key process in their work as well as a challenge. More and more educators are eager to pass it and improve their performance. Nowadays, the process is much broader and covers both elementary and secondary school.
“The external certification is a very useful tool for building an educational network in municipalities based on a new format. The system enables experts from different fields to work with educators, which allows them to gain experience and interesting practices from other oblasts. This is an important step towards improving educational services,” the expert said.
The info session presented the results of teacher certification using the case of schools of the Kamin Kashyrsky municipality. According to Tetiana Mytchyk, Principal of Kamin Kashyrsky Lyceum No. 2, the number of teachers in her school who passed it increases every year.
She believes that the dynamics will continue in the future because teachers understand the importance of improving approaches to teaching children of different ages. As Principal Mytchyk stressed, the school will only benefit from the certification of teachers, as it leads to the introduction of innovative approaches in the educational process, the increase in the number of extra-curricular activities and strengthening of the communication with students.
Educators of the Volyn oblast reviewed practical cases and had a chance to interact directly with experts in teacher certification. U-LEAD experts regularly hold events for municipalities that cover education issues and are ready to provide consultations on this topic in the future.
