The proposals under the investment passport of the Novopokrovka municipality are focused on the creation of food processing companies and ensuring the additional value of raw materials grown by local farmers and producers. Among other things, it is proposed to set up a business complex for breeding large or small cattle and a cheese factory in disused farms.
The municipality offers disused warehouses for the opening of a gourmet food factory or craft production of original products. There are proposals for the creation of a milk processing plant and a pallet production business. The important thing is that there is infrastructure, raw materials, workers and convenient logistics available for each business idea.
At the same time, the Novopokrovka municipality is open to the proposals of entrepreneurs and investors. The main condition is the targeted use and preservation of the existing natural potential of locations and properties, as well as the generation of additional value chains.
The municipality is committed to creating a favourable business environment. For instance, the land tax rate is 50% lower than in other municipalities (from 0.5 to 1% before the regulatory monetary assessment), and the single tax for entrepreneurs is reduced by 25%.
Liudmyla Murkovych, head of the Novopokrovsk municipality, believes that the preparations for the post-war recovery of the territory and economy should start now.
“Through cooperation with U-LEAD, the Novopokrovka municipality obtained another component for the development of the local economy, an investment passport. We hope that the analysis of investment opportunities, the showcasing of investment proposals and the involvement of local businesses in their implementation will help establish close economic cooperation, create new jobs and attract additional funds for the development of our territories, because only through the cooperation between the authorities, business community and municipality will we achieve stability, economic success and prosperity of the territory,” she noted.
With the support of experts, the working group of the Novopokrovka municipality processed its investment attractiveness factors (investment objects, natural resources, human capital, local businesses, the image of the municipality, etc.), analysed and identified investment proposals. The working group included representatives of local self-government, specialised institutions and structures, the Youth Council, veterans’ organisations, the Agrarian Council and the Council of Entrepreneurs of the municipality, etc. The activity was coordinated by U-LEAD’s expert Mykola Durman and the team of the Regional Office of U-LEAD with Europe in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
