The programme “Steps for Specialists. Steps for Specialists. Remuneration of Local Self-Government Employees” is designed to enhance professional competence of participants in developing the system of remuneration for local self-government officials, performance evaluation, capabilities and output of employees, as well as financial incentives in local self-government. Tetiana Korobka, Head of the Working Group on HR and Adviser on Decentralisation and Local Self-Government of the Regional Office of U-LEAD with Europe in the Sumy Oblast, spoke about this.
The participants will also be able to master the skills of preparing administrative documents related to the remuneration of local self-government employees and learn how to build a systematic approach to calculating basic and additional wages as well as other incentive and compensation payments. They will be coached by U-LEAD’s advisers.
Representatives from the Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Lviv, Odesa, Poltava, Rivne, Ternopil, Cherkasy and Chernihiv Oblasts joined the Steps.
“Remuneration is undoubtedly one of those cross-cutting issues that combines finance, HR management and accounting. There is a lot of change, and officials should regularly update their knowledge and skills to keep up with all the new developments. That is why our training programme is built on a comprehensive approach: we will explore new legislation and how to make the right decisions based on these changes, how to transparently form wages, how to stimulate employees and how to encourage young people to join the service in the local self-government,” said Tetiana Korobka.
